Thomas Viles joined Process Control Services. as an Electrician back in July 2023 and has been doing a great job since he arrived… however Tom has another string to his bow! Outside of work Tom is a football referee and he has been developing his refereeing credentials with an eye to progressing up the FA referee hierarchy.
Referees are categorised into 10 amateur levels, with Level 1 being the highest and after which referees become professional. It takes a lot of commitment to climb the referee ladder and PCS is very pleased to have played a small part in Tom’s success by assigning him work that fits with his need to attend the practical assessments and exams needed to achieve further qualification.
The great news is that Tom’s hard work has finally been rewarded and he has been promoted to a Level 3 Referee with Derbyshire FA, so next season expect to see him officiate at National League matches around the county!
Tom’s commitment to refereeing has also been recognised in other ways too. In June he travelled to Wembley to the National Referee Recognition Awards and won Referee Volunteer Support of the Year and at a local level Derbyshire FA selected Tom as Match Official of the Year.
Well done Tom… you’ve had a memorable 23-24 season!
