Absence by in-house electrical staff is often predictable e.g. planned vacations or extra production shifts, however the knowledge of the temporary staff that replace them can be very variable. By developing long-term relationships with our clients, PCS personnel develop extensive site familiarity and knowledge of client procedures and policies that makes them much more effective than alternatives from other sources. Our clients get to know our ‘cover electricians’ and often don’t ever want to release them!

It can be more challenging when in-house absence occurs at short notice, for example, due to sickness. For clients with whom we have a long-term relationship we can usually help within 24 hours, and for newer clients we can often help… just maybe not as quickly.

PCS usually provide cover staff on a dayworks basis, with the appropriate rates applied to different skill levels supplied. It is also usual to agree a time period for which the PCS cover staff will be available, although if the client prefers we can also work on a rolling weekly basis.
